Personal injury & TBI neuropsychological evaluations

Independent, evidence-based evaluations that document what changed after an injury, why symptoms persist, and what treatment offers the best chance of recovery.

Who this is for

  • Traumatic brain injury (TBI)
  • Motor vehicle collisions
  • Medical malpractice
  • Workplace or school incidents
  • Toxin exposure
  • Wrongful death matters

Our methodology

Each evaluation establishes the person's pre-injury baseline, the proximate cause and impact of the injury, why symptoms are continuing, and how best to remediate them. Evaluations are designed to avoid bias, so the true connection between injury and disability can be understood.

  • Functioning before the event: work, home, social life, health and development
  • Severity of distress the event is likely to cause
  • Areas of resilience and impairment after the event
  • Likely causes of current psychological and cognitive functioning
  • Future status and need for care

The process

1. Baseline and background. Work history and responsibilities, home functioning, social engagement, and medical history before the injury.

2. In-person testing. An all-day evaluation using standardized neuropsychological batteries covering cognitive ability, memory, attention, executive functioning, language, fine motor skills and emotional and behavioral functioning.

3. Feedback and report. Findings, record review and prognosis are explained, and a detailed written report is provided for counsel, the court and rehabilitation providers.

Experience

Dr. Tutty has conducted more than 535 neuropsychological evaluations of adults in personal injury litigation, many involving traumatic brain injury, workplace and school injuries, and toxin exposure. Attorneys can also engage the practice for expert testimony and review of other experts' work.
